The author presents a study on the drawings in Islamic decorated pottery from the 9th-13th centuries found in archaeological excavations at Mértola.
With this work, the author underlines the aesthetic value of decorated pottery through the evolution of its artwork, analysed in light of historical processes. This is the period that unifies the geometric grammar that will define and characterise the aesthetic language of the Muslim world, leaving its mark for centuries to come in the Iberian traditional pottery.
