This publication resulting from the 3rd International Congress of Archaeology, History and Art from the Early Middle Ages, which took place on December of 2007 at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and at the Museo de los Orígenes, shares the proceedings of the event, being the third volume of the “Conference proceedings” series.

Several experts, under multidisciplinary perspectives, have focused on death as an historical phenomenon in its multiple manifestations and from different points of view. We highlight the article by Virgílio Lopes, researcher at Mértola’s Archaeological Site (CAM), entitled “Necropolis of Mértola: from the Roman world to Late Antiquity”.
