Mértola’s Archaeological Site is currently pursuing the project “Casa José Mattoso: Documentation and Research Center – INALENTEJO”, a QREN initiative (National Strategic Reference Framework) co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), approved, as determined by the Management’s Steering Committee in their meeting no. 154, on Oct. 7th 2010, with starting date July 1st, 2010 and ending on June 30th, 2012.
This project has the following objectives:

Organize and process the bibliographic collection, making it available and therefore democratizing it;

Promote scientific and technological culture with the creation of a web portal and a digital collection, in partnership with universities and multidisciplinary scientific institutes;

Gather, disseminate and share knowledge in humanities’ various fields;

Contribute to the increase of scientific literature, and consequently of knowledge, through publishing.
