TORRES, Cláudio - O Alentejo agrícola: um pouco de história. Porto: Edições Afrontamento, 2011. 51 p. ISBN 987-972-36-1189-2
Through the book, the author approaches the remnants of the past, such as the names of cities from the al-Ândalus and the millennial origin of the rural properties of the Alentejo, which still live on and “coincide, generally, with present time municipalities”. Also noted is the way in which the orographic and productive differentiation of the land has marked the social history of the Alentejo. Through this book, Cláudio Torres highlights the agricultural heritage of the Alentejo, a land that has kept farmers as the guardians of knowledge and of practices that enabled them to live in harmony with nature, which should be resumed according to the author.
