II International Conference Libraries for life

Continuing the first edition of the International Conference LIBRARIES FOR LIFE, which took place in 2005, and intending to create a regular space for reflection, broader and at the same time more focused on libraries, the 2009 edition proposed the theme LIBRARIES AND READING. This second conference was a joint initiative of the Centre for Interdisciplinary History, Cultures and Societies at the University of Évora and of the Public Library of Évora, and it took place in 18-21 November 2009. The event consisted of very diverse activities: lectures by invited experts, free interventions, training workshops for specific aspects of reading promotion, and a panel of professionals working in school, public and higher education libraries.

The BCAM team participated in this conference with an intervention entitled "Marketing, communications and information in the context of reading promotion in libraries: a case study of the Library of Mértola’s Archaeological Site", available on the CAM Scientific Repository at: http://comum.rcaap.pt/handle/123456789/1673
